A Warm Welcome

We’ve always prided ourselves on offering guests an authentic, friendly South African experience. Our staff aim to be friendly and helpful no matter why you’re visiting, but we’re always thrilled to celebrate love and family with our guests. We were thrilled to hear we got it just right!From the moment my husband and I got to the front gate we felt welcomed and part of the family!

Our room was absolutely spectacular, and we were even gifted a Karoo bottle of wine with a congratulatory letter from the Buffelsdrift Team. Thanks for that special touch!

Fun in the Sun

Whether you just want an excuse to indulge in our range of sizzling spa treatments, or you’re ready to get out in the world as a couple for the first time and experience everything the reserve and the Klein Karoo have to offer, we’re here to help you shape a honeymoon experience that will make memories. Explore the bush, enjoy the views, and don’t forget to say Hi to our curious elephant trio!Our first activity was the Bush drive. It was absolutely amazing seeing all the animals and learning about the Spekboom plants that are at Buffelsdrift. Who knew something so simple could have such an impact on the environment? It was great to know we could give back a little on our special trip, too.

Next, we tried a Meerkat Safari… well what can I say? The adventure was on! Trying to find these little ones while enjoying watching the sunrise was simply delightful. What a special way to celebrate! Of course, we couldn’t visit the lodge without meeting the famous Buffelsdrift Elephants and their handlers. What an experience this was! To feed these gentle giants and get curious hugs from them is an experience you’ll never forget!

Another activity we couldn’t miss was to see and learn about the lions that are at Buffelsdrift. These BIG cats are amazing to see up close and watch how they interact with each other. Conserving our beautiful predators has become such an important part of the work for caring and engaged Karoo Game Lodges, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially knowing we were giving back a little to this beautiful corner of the world.

Tasty Treats

The onsite restaurant at Buffelsdrift has become something of a best-kept local secret. We offer succulent dishes fresh from our local farm, with a seasonal menu that draws inspiration from the land around us.With all the amazing activities that we did when it came time to eat at the amazing restaurant, we were spoiled with a variety of choices to choose from – every meal we had was absolutely DELICIOUS!
